Ethylene oxide polymers, hygroscopic and very soluble in water due to the hydrophilic characteristic provided by the polyoxyethylene chain. By varying the molecular weight, liquid or solid products can be obtained, covering a wide range of viscosity, melting point and consistency. They act as humectants, solubilizers, consistency agents, conditioning agents, viscosity regulators, carriers, and perfume fixatives in a variety of cosmetic products.
